As of last week, my coursework completed, final exams concluded, and final grade received, my time at university has come to an end. It was an interesting three years, to say the least. Sleepless nights in the studio, last-minute revision sessions in the library, and presenting to an overwhelming audience, it would be an understatement to say it was the most stressful times of my educational career. Not to mention the spread of the pandemic causing a panic, where struggling to stay motivated was one of many problems. Virtual learning did not help with the motivation and it still has a long way to go, especially as architecture students require crucial interaction from face to face instruction. In spite of what was happening around the world and being confined to the 4 walls of my university room with graduation being robbed from me, I can proudly say I did it! I managed to get it all together one last time and produce some incredible work.
So what now?
Finding work has never been harder. Emails are bouncing back, CV's are going unread, portfolios are collecting dust all thanks to COVID-19. But don't worry this won't stop me. After all the aim is to keep trying and never give up, even if it means endlessly spamming employers emails. My search for a job at an architecture firm continues. I'll keep you updated.
Until next time.
