THE ARCH ROOF STRUCTURE

The aim of the project was to design a beautiful, self-standing roof structure that covers an area of at least 400 square metres - within this area no internal columns or supports were permitted. The total footprint of the structure could not exceed 900 square meters. I designed a model made of intricately connecting timber arches held together by cables. Glass panels and a tensile member act as the tertiary structure.
